Welcome to Culinaire, Victoria's Premier Food Tasting Experience.

Culinaire is excited to announce Thursday March 10, 2011 as next year’s event date. Once again it will be held inside the beautiful Crystal Garden at the Victoria Conference Centre. Be our guest and immerse yourself into the wonderful world of fine cuisine.

On Thursday April 22, 2010, guests of Victoria’s first Culinaire were treated to the rich offerings from our region’s best restaurants and purveyors of specialty foods. Signature creations and inspired dishes from the area’s top chefs were show-cased for all to savour. Over 1000 people filled The Crystal Garden to sample the bounties from our presenters’ brilliant culinary minds.

Guests were delighted to taste from a selection of over 50 different food dishes, and numerous specialty beverages. Fresh seafood, prime cuts of beef, artisan cheeses, local craft beers, Asian inspired dishes including duck and chicken, fresh baked breads, unique chocolate creations, regional wines, vegan desserts, and delicious specialty coffees made to order were all on the menu. Attendees were able to eat foods and try restaurants they had not experienced before. “A special treat was seeing people try a fresh shucked oyster for the first time, and then return for seconds” said an event organizer. “I have at least five new places to go and eat now” an excited foodie exclaimed. Chefs were on site serving up their creations and mingling with guests, being careful not to give away too many of their secrets.

Culinaire is proud to be sponsoring annual scholarship awards for students enrolled in the Camosun College Culinary Arts Program. Partial proceeds from each year’s event benefit our local students aspiring to be tomorrow’s best chef.
